About me
Q: What's the fastest way to turn into a mute?
A: "So... tell us more about yourself”
Starting to write my bio felt like staring at the screen forever. I'm no writer; it took me ages to figure out what to write for school essays! Eventually, I turned to my trusty sidekick: Google. But this time, Google wasn't much help. So, at a procrastinating snail's pace, here goes nothing…
I'm from South Africa and reside in Limpopo, the Kruger National Park gate is 5 minutes from my house. I adore animals, I mean, if you have a couple of dogs, bunch of cats, a bunny and a snail, yes, you read correctly, you are to be considered an animal lover.
I'm not a fan of cardio because, let's face it, my lungs aren't exactly Olympic material. Oh, and I like to add some ink to my body art canvas, and I became a mom in 2020, a mom to a human child, my own fertilized egg.
By the way, I'm a bit shy and awkward, I have severe anxiety, depression, PTSD, and OCD. Furthermore, I don't necessarily like people that much, I eat way too many doughnuts and also now realizing this isn't a dating site.
Professionally, I'm a certified Personal Trainer, Exercise Specialist, and Sports Conditioning Coach. I've got some extra certificates in training and sports conditioning, too. I've even started my own brand and website, dipping my toes into the world of graphic design along the way. Also, not Olympic material.
My journey to fitness started back in 2010 during my final year of high school. It wasn't until February 2011 that I dared to step foot into a gym, where the clang of weights and the smell of sweat won me over. Despite dealing with scoliosis—a fancy term for a crooked spine—I pushed through, using exercise not only to transform my body but also to help straighten out my back, well, a little. The double curvature and rotation is here to stay. And let me tell you, doing squats (or deadlifts) with a spine that's bent like a pretzel? It's a whole new level of "twisted" workout!
Here, on this digital platform, my initial aim was to keep myself accountable, seek support, and share the lessons I've learned through years of ups and downs. Now, I am all about sharing my years and years worth of knowledge. As they say, "Knowledge is power, but sharing it is the first step towards helping others."
